After leaving the house in only her pyjamas and a coat on Boxing Day and having not been seen since, the search for missing Sally Allan continues. The 59-year-old from Ponteland was last seen walking along the Quayside in the early hours of the morning on Boxing Day, CCTV shows. After a Facebook account was created in aid of finding Sally, hundreds of locals have spent hours searching the surrounding areas for her, or any signs of her whereabouts, as well as divers searching parts of the River Tyne.

Receiving an exceptional amount of support, her family has now set up a JustGiving page, on which they state that they “do not know why and (they) do not know how she came to this”, and that it did not seem to be the behaviour of the “normal Sally”. As it seems possible that Sally has been battling a mental health issue, her loved ones have decided to fundraise for Mind – The Mental Health Charity.

Although a target of £5,000 was originally set, this has been significantly exceeded thanks to generous donations by friends and even strangers, raising over £9,000 so far.

Let’s hope that she’s found soon!
