Funniest Joke at the Fringe 2017

The funniest joke at the Edinburgh Fringe is a big deal, so much so that it even has its own award. And this year, the tenth annual Dave’s Funniest Joke of the Fringe award went to Ken Cheng, whose self-proclaimed ‘groaner’ of a joke secured 33% of the public vote. The joke “I’m not a fan of the new pound coin, but then again, I hate all change,” came about when it was announced that there would be a new shape pound coin coming into circulation.

The former Cambridge University student was ‘proud’ to have won the award, albeit somewhat surprised.

Below you will find the other jokes which were possible contenders for the prize.
