The Game Awards for 2017 are coming up this week and while a lot of it is utter tosh, there are a few notable names turning up this year, however, from celebrity to musical it’s a pretty wide range. Starting things off, we have the French alt-rock band Phoenix performing: last year we had DOOM’s soundtrack creator Mick Gordon and Run The Jewels perform.

New for 2017, there is The Game Awards Orchestra, which will bring together some famous musicians who will perform video game music in a new style. Whatever that means. Avenged Sevenfold guitarist Synyster Gates and cellist Tina Guo are among some of the performers this year.

Other big names include Hideo Kojima, Guillermo del Toro and Norman Reedus, who are still hard at work on Death Stranding. We’d offer more insight into the game, but we know very little about it. They were all slated to work on the Silent Hills game before Konami murdered it.

Additionally, actresses Felicia Day and Aisha Tyler will be turning up too, along with Andy Serkis and Rick and Morty creator Dan Harmon.

There will be several awards given out throughout the evening, as the name suggests, along with some new gameplay from PUBG. But, with such a fantastic year for games, it’s anyone’s guess who will be getting the coveted Game of the Year award.

We shall see on December 7th.
