Fashion icon, Brazilian supermodel, and now environmental activist, Gisele Bundchen recently revealed that she is set to star in the National Geographic Channel’s docu-series concerning the destruction of the Amazon rain forest.

The latest National Geographic docu-series, which is set to be named Years of Living Dangerously, is being created in an attempt to encourage protection of the Amazon in an effort to save it. Bundchen, one of the highest-paid supermodels in the world, released the news last week via social media. The model posted about her involvement with the National Geographic Channel via the photo-sharing app Instagram, just as she did for her announcement of her work with the United Nation’s Wild For Life campaign.

Bundchen posted an image of herself sitting beneath a tree onto the social networking site, writing underneath it: “I’m excited to be joining season two of @YearsofLiving Dangerously as a correspondent, exploring deforestation and climate change in my beautiful home country of Brazil.”

The show is set to be released in October, however, it has been reported that Bundchen, who was appointed as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations Environment Programme in 2009, shares a few sneak previews to her Snapchat followers. Bundchen’s is not the only famous face you can expect to see on the new docu-series as it will also feature celebrity investigators involved in environmental activism – watch this space!
