Grimmy Stepping Down

This week we have seen a number of Television folks stepping down from their roles.  Matt LeBlanc takes his final spin on Top Gear and the infamous Andrew Lincoln AKA Rich Grimes in the Walking Dead announced his departure from the cult TV show this week as well. However, it was with great sadness for some and probably a moment of true bliss for others, that Nick Grimshaw, Radio 1 morning show host for the last six years will be turning off his alarm clock for the last time.

Grimmy replaced Chris Moyles in 2012 on the show and has had a rather illustrious career, jumping from late nights to early mornings. Interviewing an array of stars and having some rather amusing moments on the show, with his Call or Delete segment, the Northern lad will be swapping shows with afternoon host Greg James. So, still on the radio but not worrying about those early mornings while he cavorts around London with his celebrity friends, not a bad deal for Nick.

Speaking of his new morning gig, Greg James, who has had quite a big year himself this year, from raising a million for Sports Relief, announcing his marriage and hosting the Radio 1 Biggest Weekend in Swansea only last weekend, had this to say on Twitter:

And as the old saying goes, a change is as good as a rest. Looking forward to September already.
