‘Historical Accuracy’ Blast Backfires

Mmmm. It’s always great when UKIP members make total idiots of themselves.
Basically, in case you didn’t know, Sophie Okonedo, the award-winning Shakespearean actor, is appearing in the BBC’s adaptation of The Hollow Crown as Margaret of Anjou.
She has so far received high praise for her performance. But there are many who aren’t exactly on board with her playing the role.
Such as this moron.
Yep, that is the UKIP councillor for Hampstead County and Fareham.
He is unconvinced that Sophie Okonedo could play such a role, just because of her skin colour, and believes the show is being “historically inaccurate”.
However, multiple people have shown him the error of his ways.
1. Are you assuming the painting is an example of documentary realism?

@WorksWithWords Dude: Wolverine is 5'3". Hugh Jackman is 6'1". It's called acting.

Also: The original actor who played Margaret of Anjou had a penis.

But wait, it gets better.
One user, Chevalier au Canard, who recently finished studying medieval stories and myths, weighed in too.

I love the internet.
The Hollow Crown is host to some powerful British talent, and has been praised unanimously.
