January is arguably one of the worst months of the year; we’re all low on cash, feeling a little bit worse for wear, and not really looking forward to going back to work or college. In fact, it’s got so bad for many of us that last Monday was deemed Blue Monday – supposedly the most depressing day of the year.

So, what could you do to cheer yourself up a little bit? Well, hitting the January sales is always a good idea!

If you don’t know where to start, here are a few ideas to get you going.

  • Make the most of your shop at Amazon with free delivery, even if you don’t have Prime.
    • One of the most frustrating things to happen while shopping online is being just a few pence away from being eligible for free delivery. So, instead of spending an extra £5 on something you don’t need, you could use Filler Checker, a tool that helps you to find products at just the right price you need to beat that £20 limit.
  • Give haggling a go on a live chat.
    • This might not work every time, but it’s certainly worth giving it a go. When you’re online shopping and a box pops up asking if you would like any help, queury some of the products you’re interested in and you might just find that they’ll be able to give you some discount.
  • Compare prices
    • With so many different retailers comes so many different prices. So, instead of sticking with the first website you find, use Google Shopping to compare prices. You could find the item you’re looking for in the sales! Plus, it only takes a few extra minutes.
  • If you’re a MAC lover, you’re in for a treat.
    • All you need to do is take six empty MAC containers into store (of any kind) and you will be able to exchange them for a brand new lippy.
  • Coupon!
    • The idea of couponing is daunting for many people, but it need not be. Just search online for your favourite stores along with the terms ‘coupon’ or ‘discount code’ and within no time you’ll be saving money. Often, you don’t even need to print them off – just have them available on your phone, or type in a code.

So, there you have it – five ways to make shopping much easier this January. If you’re still struggling to find a good bargain, you could always check out Ashleigh, the girl who can find you every discount you could possibly need.
