Since the release of the film It in theatres, 27 years after the original, fans have speculated who would play the adult versions of the kids who defeated the Dancing Clown, Pennywise. The film was good according to just about everyone. I didn’t see it due to my fear of clowns and said clowns eating small children.

I bloody hate clowns.

One name thrown around a bit to play the role was Jessica Chastain, who many people thought would be the perfect person to portray Beverly Marsh. The teenage version of Marsh was played by Sophia Lillis.

Chastain herself is a fan of the idea, stating that she would love to join the sequel, according to ScreenRant. She’s into it partly due to the fact it would be directed by Andy and Barbara Muschietti, the brother/sister duo that directed Mama, another weird horror esc movie.

Man, in Mama she looked like I did when I was 13.

‘Well, I love Andy and Barbara. I worked with them on Andy’s directorial debut, you know, his film, Mama. His first film. And you know, Barbara is one of my best friends,’ Chastain says. ‘Listen, of course, I want to work … they’re my friends. They’re like my family. Anything that they’re doing I want to be a part of, so I hope we can make it happen.’

No casting has been announced for the second movie yet, but following the success of the first movie, the sequel is slated to arrive in theatres in September 2018.

Chastain’s next role will be in Molly’s Game, which hits cinemas on 25th December.
