Multi-millionaire author J.K. Rowling has finally said “I think we’re done,” when it comes to Harry Potter.

The last Harry Potter film was released in 2011, but even afterwards, his story has continued, with numerous fan theories, and even bait from J.K. herself. But alas, all great stories must come to an end (something horror directors and writers can’t understand).

After The Cursed Child, J.K. is apparently saying goodbye to the beloved character for the last time.

She spoke to Reuters, and when asked if The Cursed Child would lead into another more mature series of adventures, she responded:

“He goes on a very big journey during these two plays and then, yeah, I think we’re done,” she said. “This is the next generation, you know. So, I’m thrilled to see it realised so beautifully but, no, Harry is done now.”

The Cursed Child is set 19 years after the events of The Deathly Hallows where Harry has three kids, and works at the Ministry for Magic.

While this is the end for Harry, it is certainly not the end for the magical world. With Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them coming out later this year, we’re taking another plunge into the magic.

But for now, goodbye, Harry; you were the best wizard ever.
