A style icon to many, the Duchess of Cambridge has landed her very first magazine cover ever in none other than the 100th Anniversary issue of British Vogue.

Kate Middleton posed for the first time for the cover of Vogue’s June edition in a collaboration with the National Portrait Gallery. In true sensational Vogue style, the magazine kicked off their milestone 100th year with a star-studded festival featuring speakers such as Grace Coddington and Kim Kardashian. But of course, the magazine had to go bigger and better than ever before for the June issue, and indeed they did go big by securing the Duchess of Cambridge herself to star on the cover.

Kate Middleton’s shoot looks effortlessly chic and relaxed with a vintage country vibe to the outfits and images published – just what the Duchess, who has never modelled for a magazine photo-shoot prior to this, had hoped for. A spokesperson for Kate Middleton commented that “She hopes that people appreciate the portraits with the sense of relaxed fun with which they were taken.” Throughout the shoot, the Duchess wears a range of brands from Burberry to London Vintage and Beyond Retro.

Lucinda Chambers, Fashion Director for Vogue UK, aimed to keep the shoot looking relaxed and casual as a refreshing contrast from the formal images of the Duchess that we are all so used to seeing, such as those from her recent visit to the Taj Mahal in India. The shoot took place on familiar grounds for Kate Middleton, at the Queen’s Sandringham Estate, where the Duchess and Prince William own a ten-bed family home.
