Lies in the Media…Never

Most recent in a series of incidents to hit the world of the American news anchor is the fall from grace of Brian Williams, who has been suspended from his job at NBC after allegations of ‘misrepresentation’ in reports.
Williams, 55, has been managing editor and anchor of Nightly News since 2004, and in that time the programme has largely ranked above its main rivals in television viewing figures. The last several years, however, have seen a drop in credibility for the veteran broadcaster, following inaccurate recollections of his experiences in the Iraq War of 2003 and the catastrophe of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. Various eyewitnesses have questioned the veracity of these recollections, and Williams has since been suspended without pay for six months.
