Lineker Pooed Off

23 August 2014

Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker has hit out at Twitter trolls pestering him over that 1990 World Cup incident.

If you didn’t already know, it was England’s opening match against Ireland in the 1990 World Cup. The team was ready and the match had begun but it took an unexpected turn when Lineker went in for a tackle. Feeling bittersweet about the day, the presenter said he ‘wasn’t feeling well’ and when he went in for the tackle, ‘the bowels relaxed’… thanks for that, Gary.

But Lineker is not happy with the reaction he gets on Twitter as he claims he has a lot of ‘respectable’ followers: mothers, children and of course others in the business. Speaking painfully of how every time he tweets, his notifications are spammed with expletives that aren’t ‘pleasant’ from kids ‘just messing around’.

So, does he just take it on the chin like a man and just laugh along with them? No, of course not! He sits down before he goes on air (or sometimes he’s lying in his king-sized bed in his luxury mansion) and blocks every single person sending the ‘abuse’.

Poor Gary, my heart goes out to him… really. He even expressed how painfully ‘time-consuming’ it is to block them all, again I repeat: poor Gary. What a tragedy it must be for him.
