Metro Radio Arena, last night played host to Hawaiian singer songwriter Bruno Mars. Mars, 28, kicked off the final night on his arena tour singing ‘Moonshine.’
With a series of flashing lights, a tense countdown and excitement in the air – Bruno came on stage, and that was just the beginning!
Bruno – real name, Peter Gene Hernandez – showed off his fantastic vocal range in the 14 track set list. Behind him a screen saw various combinations of jungle animals flying and swinging across it with the occasional bang on their chest – apt for a tour called Moonshine Jungle..
A few explicit words – give or take a few – and the audience were all up on their feet, singing, dancing and reflecting the enthusiasm Bruno spoon fed to the sold out arena.
As the evening progressed, ‘When I Was Your Man,’ another chart-topping hit, was performed after a heart-felt monologue from Mars about how the song is ‘still hard’ for him to sing (aww). The crowd sang along, supporting him throughout until the singer’s emotions got the better of him and a small tear was to come and go, as the audience responded by chanting his name.
The night ended on a high with the chart smash single ‘Locked Out of Heaven,’ followed by a drum solo by the Pop-God himself. There is no doubt about it, Bruno Mars brings it all – songs, vocals and show. So if you ever get the chance to watch the showman perform, go!
