As we are all aware, Hollywood actor, Robin Williams has died aged 63. The Jumanji actor took his own life in his California home, early Monday morning.

Robin has been recognised for his comedic roles in movies such as Mrs Doubtfire and Jack. The Flubber actor was known for his Oscar winning performance  in Good Will Hunting.  He made many people around the world, both you and old laugh but he was fighting his own demons through his battle with depression.

In remembrance of this inspiring actor, we have decided to take a look back at Robin’s top five movies:

1. Mrs Doubtfire

The American comedy was released back in 1993. The movie was rated 40 in the Bravo’s 100 Funniest Movies of All Time. The movie saw Williams dress as a nanny, so he could see his children after him and his wife were having difficulties during their divorce. All ends well and he and his wife get back together. In May 2013, it was announced that there would be a sequel to Mrs Doubtfire which Williams would star in. In April this year, the script had been written and filming was set to go ahead in 2015.

2. Good Morning Vietnam

The American war comedy was released back in 1987. The movie is set in Saigon in 1965, during the Vietnam War. Robin plays a radio DJ on Armed Forces Radio Service. His character is hugely popular with the troops but his superiors aren’t too pleased with him. If you haven’t seen this movie yet, it is definitely a must-see. The film is number 100 on AFI’s 100 Years… 100 Laughs.

3. Hook

Hook is an American fantasy adventure movie and was directed by Steven Spielberg. The film was released in 1991 and it is based on a grown man (Robin Williams), Peter Pan/Peter Banning, who has forgotten his childhood, and after Hook kidnaps his children, Peter travels to Neverland to reclaim his youth and rescue his children.

4. Good Will Hunting

The American drama is one of Robin’s more serious roles. He won an Oscar for his acting in a supporting role. He played an open-hearted psychiatrist and mentor to Matt Damon’s character, Will Hunting. Out of any movie to see, this should be at the top of your list.

5. Aladdin

Aladdin was released in 1992 and is an animated musical fantasy film, which is an ultimate Disney classic. Williams was the voice of Genie and also narrated the classic. Aladdin became the most successful film of 1992 and made over $504 million worldwide. Robin upstaged any voice for an animated character and made everyone around the world fall in love with Genie.
