That time of the week again folks.

So winter has begun, and the bitter cold has already blown out the fire, frosted the mantelpiece, and made itself comfy. So, we have a comprehensive list of how to avoid – or at least combat – the cold.

Layers – Take a lesson from Shrek, and layer up like an onion. From two pairs of socks, to leggings under jeans (which is delightfully toasty by the way), and a number of jackets. Body warmers work wonders, and gloves are a must. The head is also crucial to be covered. Around 45-50% of body heat is lost through our heads, so stop huffing and put on your poofball hat.

Staying inside – Okay this sounds like an obvious one but seriously. It’s winter, you have an excuse now to not go anywhere. Wrap up in duvets, blankets, jumpers, wear the comfiest clothes and stay warm. And if you are going to go outside, refer to step one.

Warm drinks – White hot chocolate. No more words needed.

Heating – If you have a fireplace handy, use it, or if you have a wood burner fire, use that! It’s atmospheric, and you know, #aesthetic and all that. Curl up with a good book, in front of your roaring fire and some tea. Perfect. Just be sure you know how to put it out.

People – You know the best thing about the winter? People. We all have the same mind-set of ‘it’s so cold I can’t feel my face’. There’s nothing quite like spending a wintery night in with your besties, with a few games, more tea, or other beverages, and enjoying the company.

So there you have it. A comprehensive guide to winter. Or at least all the stuff that matters.

Me @ myself: just stay cozy. Don’t worry about a got-darn thing.

See you all next week!
