Ah, live TV, since its inception in the 30s, has seen a number of blunders, botch-ups and even a vine here and there. But this one is a real car crash. (HA).

It happened on Monday afternoon outside of the Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court, where TV presenter Ant McPartlin was fined for drink driving, following a collision in south-west London in March. There was a heavy media presence outside the court, which resulted in more than a few instances of public interference.

Well, the BBC had its cameras rolling at just the right (wrong) time and caught a car crash live on TV. It wasn’t particularly dangerous or exciting but hey, when does anything ever happen like that on British TV.

As the reporter explained to the camera the situation in the court, three cars bumped against each other in tandem.

Fortunately, the drivers were unharmed, and the crash didn’t look too bad. Hopefully, they exchanged insurance and got it all sorted. As we Brits often do.

Look, it’s been a slow week for uplifting news. All the memes are stale. Well, there was that one from nearly 100-years-ago which was quite funny, but still. If this week’s particular column wasn’t good enough for you, how about last week’s?

Until next time.
