The newest iteration of VR has been set for release in April at $800 – $200 more than its cousin the Oculus Rift.

The HTC Vive was announced last year alongside many other VR things, but of all of them, it stood out like a diamond among rubies.

HTC VP Dan O’Brien said: “There is nothing else that can do what the HTC does”.

Probably one of the biggest differences between Vive and Oculus is what is included in the actual package. So, in Oculus, you get the headset, a remote control and an Xbox One controller. The Vive comes with two free games: Job Simulator and Fantastic Contraption, and its custom-made controllers.

More games for the device are set to be announced in March, and games will be sold through HTC’s partner Valve, via the Steam store.

The HTC Vive will be available for the public in April.
