Now, on a scale of one to ten, how much did you enjoy this movie?

So Disney Animation studios return with their massively anticipated movie, Big Hero 6. Centered around the life of young Hiro Hamada, a boy genius who, in an unfortunate assumed accident, becomes partnered with the wonderful, huggable, and rather podgey Baymax. A personal healthcare companion, helping Hiro and his friends over come a terrifying new villain, a man, in a black suit, with a kabuki mask, and an army of Hiro’s own microbots.

The film uses Disneys signature animation style and witty humour, plus the use of a very broad cast. The action is well placed, and there are a few moments where we sat and cried because it wouldn’t be a Disney film without a few sob moments. But, it’s balanced enough so it doesn’t become overbearing, there is enough humour and action to keep your eyes glued to the screen throughout.

Overall, a rather good film, if not a little short, could have been extended a bit to offer more background on the secondary characters. Put it this way. Now we know why they call him BAEMAX.
