MTV MAs 2015: TFiOS Wins Big

The MTV Movie Awards 2015 was aired last night, including lots of shirtless Zac Efron and a whole lot of The Fault in Our Stars and a tearful John Green.

Yes, that’s right, the extremely informal awards show kicked off with fan-voted awards like ‘Best Kiss’ and ‘Best Shirtless Performance’ (no prizes for guessing who won that one… Mr Efron). But, it was American author John Green who was feeling the proudest at the ceremony as the film adaptation of his best-selling novel The Fault in Our Stars scooped the big one: ‘Best Movie’.

The star of last summer’s blockbuster, Shailene Woodley, accepted the award for ‘Best Female Performance’ and dedicated her win to John Green, saying he ‘changed her life’ with his novel. And, after Woodley’s acceptance speech, the audience at home got a glimpse of Mr Green shedding a tear or two in his seat.

Other winners included Bradley Cooper, who won best male performance for his role as the late Chris Kyle in American Sniper, Channing Tatum for his comedy performance in 22 Jump Street and Jennifer Lawrence for her unusual sing-song in Part one of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay.
