As part of a national chain, Kaspa’s opened its doors to the public of Newcastle a few months ago now. For those of you that don’t know, Kaspa’s is a unique restaurant, selling only desserts.

Inside the restaurant, the décor is very retro themed and will remind some of an American diner from the 1950s.

Their menu includes waffles, ice creams, sorbets, cakes, milkshakes and smoothies, and it’s evident that the business is a success, as the queue is always out the door. The portion sizes are huge, so if you’re not a big eater, maybe stick with a cupcake. Surprisingly, the prices aren’t the ‘premium’ you may anticipate. For a standard smoothie and dessert, you should expect a bill of around £10, which – taking into account the table service and funky environment – is very reasonable.

Without a doubt, Kaspa’s definitely has a great novelty factor and everyone should go at least once. The food is high quality, the scene is quirky and the concept of a dessert café to most ordinary people is just another advantage in itself.
