After a few months in the wide world of the Steam market and PS4 store, Nier Automata, by Platinum Games, has finally reached 1.5 million sales, after being released way back when in March. It was a cool, meta, bullet-hell/hack ‘n’ slash, cute anime, existential crisis simulator.

Literally everyone in this game is attractive.

The two antagonists? Hot as heck. The main characters? Super cute. Makes it even more awful when something horrible happens to one of them.

Square Enix have announced that a new sales milestone has been hit, with the game totally eclipsing its sales target of one million. This includes both digital sales and physical copies. It’s wonderful that so many people have picked the game up, given the fact that there was some doubt as to whether it would do so well back in March.

It was a very new experience, one that hundreds of thousands of players have now gone through.

Nier (2010) was a very niche game, one that few people played, but it is great to see a unique and original IP come into its own.

As of the end of May, Nier Automata has sold 1.5 million copies.

Platinum Games have been doing swimmingly, as they recently released Bayonetta and Vanquish, which were both cool console games, onto PC to incredible success.

Bravo!
