Nintendo recently apologised for ongoing Switch shortages in the US and have promised to increase the volume of units to meet the growing demand for the console. In a post on the Japanese site for Nintendo, translated by Google, they acknowledged that the Switch was still in short supply after its release in March.

The post explained that the company had sent out shipments each week, however, it was struggling to keep up with the demand. Nintendo said it will increase the number of consoles it sends overseas, especially for the upcoming Splatoon 2 bundle.

“For autumn and beyond, we will continue to work to ensure that as many products as possible can be delivered to our customers towards the end of the year.”

The Nintendo Switch sold 2 million units in its first month which Nintendo of America’s president Reggie Fils-Aime called a “huge amount”, considering the console didn’t launch anywhere near a holiday month. It is impressive; so impressive that it even outsold the PS4 and Xbox One for two months in a row in the US.

Never know, I might actually buy one.
