Nintendo Announces NX Console

Nintendo has finally confirmed its upcoming console, expected in March 2017. This info was revealed as part of the company’s annual fiscal earnings for 2016.

The release day was confirmed by Nintendo America’s official Twitter account.

This comes as little surprise after a year or so of rumours that Nintendo had something in the works. Whether it will be handheld or an actual console is yet to be confirmed.

In related news, Nintendo announced that the upcoming Legend of Zelda game will be released simultaneously for the Wii U and NX in 2017. The company revealed it will be releasing Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing games for mobile devices.

Nintendo has previously hinted that they would like to move to a mobile platform, specifically for smartphones. Their most recent venture into mobile apps was Miitomo, a social networking app for Mii users.
