NME Winners

Kasabian may have had a lot to prove at the NME Awards after the absence of their name on the Brits nomination list following a big year.
Having headlined Glastonbury, had a number one album which spawned various singles and opened the BAFTA awards recently the groups hard work finally paid off when they were crowned Kings of Rock at the NME Awards last night.
Serge Pizzorno accused the Brits of trying to ‘shut down rock ‘n’ roll’ but the group definitely proved that rock ‘n’ roll is far from dead when they were named Best British Band and scooped the Best Album for 48:13 at the Brixton Academy where a who’s who in real music turned out.
Other winners included Jamie T who picked up multiple awards, Royal Blood who won Best New Band and Jake Bugg came out of hiding to pick up Best Solo Act.
