No Makeup Selfies Help Raise £8 Million For Charity In One Week!

The craze sweeping Facebook has seen soaring numbers of women sharing their bare-face selfies. Although the charity, Cancer Research UK, did not start the trend, they have benefited enormously by the online enthusiasm.

The millions were raised in just seven days despite some people accidentally donating their money to the charity, Unicef, by texting ‘DONATE’ instead of ‘BEAT’ to 70099. Others accidentally adopted a polar bear from the charity, World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

It takes a lot of guts to post makeup free selfies for women who are self-conscious but at least they gave it a try and done it for a good cause. Everyone should be proud of what they have achieved. It is remarkable how much money was raised with having to put so little effort into our faces. The money raised will help save lives and go towards helping find a cure for the deadly disease.

Well Done.
