Steven Gerrard’s last game against Manchester United at Anfield will certainly be one to remember, the 34 year old was only on the pitch 38 seconds before his moment of madness, there is no explanation why a man with a century of England caps would think it’s acceptable to stamp on any players leg.
Despite Liverpool already being one goal behind before their skipper got a straight red they still managed to keep the game tight and put up a fight right until the end, Daniel Sturridge gave the side a bit of hope after he found the back of the net. But it was United who secured three points due to two outstanding goals from midfielder Juan Mata.
Manchester have now moved five points clear of Liverpool in 4th place after the home side missed their opportunity to close the gap, as it stand’s United have 59 points whilst Liverpool trail behind with 54.
