Gertrude Weaver from Arkanas in America is now the oldest woman in the world, living at an outstanding 116 years old and is now the record holder in the Guinness World Records. Gertrude was born in 1898 and lives in a nursing home in the city of Camden.
The oldest person to ever live is Jeanne Calment from France who lived until she was 122 years and 164 days old, so Gertrude still has a few years to become the oldest person to have ever lived.
Previous record holder, Misao Okawa from Japan, died a few weeks after her 117th birthday, so the announcement came not long after that the American is now the record holder.
