Star of comedy classics like Phoenix Nights and Care Share, Peter Kay holds the record for the biggest-selling comedy tour of all time. This is after playing to 1.2 million people in 2010 and 2011. He’s had a knack for making people giggle uncontrollably since the early 90s, doing various TV spots, cameos, tours and shows.
In 2013, he sat down all the way across Britain for Comic Relief. A few years prior, he stared as Geraldine from Britain’s Got the Pop Factor.
His next tour would have covered 112 dates across the UK and Ireland, beginning in Birmingham and was scheduled to run into 2019. There was a rush for the tickets, which went on sale in November. Those who successfully booked tickets have been told they will get full refunds from their ticket provider.
He’s brought laughter to millions of people across the UK. His charity work is relentless. One of the projects he cancelled was a Dance for Life event, which would be held in Coventry, Liverpool and Manchester. The event would see him become a DJ, who would use entire arenas as giant dance floors to raise money for cancer charities.
While some fans were less than happy with the news, many were sympathetic and understanding.

Whatever Peter Kay's 'unforeseen circumstances' are, it's serious enough to warrant cancelling a lucrative 100-date tour. Respect his and his family's privacy, and don't send him abuse. Fingers crossed for the whole family ❤ @peterkay_co_uk
