There has been little advertising for it thus far, but BBC Children In Need 2013 on Friday looks to be a great show.

Not only are there the Children In Need Rocks Concerts, featuring such stars as Gary Barlow, Robbie Williams, Kings of Leon and Rizzle Kicks, but there are also the One Show Rickshaw Challenge, in which riders travel around the clock around the country and the Chris Evans Breakfast Show Auctions.

There are certainly some interesting prizes to be had in the Auctions, including a chance to play in a celebrity professional-amateur golf championship alongside Chris Evans himself, a trip to Monaco to see the Grand Prix and a Dinner and Disco with a chance to meet celebrities such as James Martin, Stereophonics and James Blunt.

And then, of course, there is the main event: the appeal night on Friday. Broadcast straight from the brand-new BBC Children In Need Studio, as well an appearance from Eastenders live from Albert Square, the programme hopes to beat last year’s donation total of £26,757,446.

“BBC Children in Need’s move to a new home has unlocked the gates to Albert Square which will bring even more excitement to Appeal night. I am thrilled with the spectacular line-up making it the biggest and most ambitious night in the show’s long history.” – Paul Wright, BBC Executive Producer

Presented once again by the seemingly immortal Terry Wogan, alongside Tess Daly, Fearne Cotton, Nick Grimshaw and Zoe Ball, the show will include features by One Direction, Doctor Who, Harry Hill and Call the Midwife, along with others.

“Every year the BBC Children in Need Appeal night is a testament to the extraordinary generosity of the British people. We’ve got the lovely Zoe Ball joining the firm this year, along with the wonderful Tess and Fearne and Mr Grimshaw, and the inimitable Pudsey. They’re all on hand to prop me up as we traverse a fantastic night of entertainment towards what we hope to be another record-breaking total” – Terry Wogan, Children In Need Life President.
