Katy Perry will be headlining Radio 1’s Big Weekend festival next month in Glasgow. Katy joked with Nick Grimshaw on his breakfast show on Radio 1 this morning by saying “Typically I’m depressed on Sunday nights… I’m going to shake it off for this particular weekend”. The ‘Roar’ singer also added “I’m very excited because some of my friends will be there. Rita Ora, Chvrches and I love The 1975. Your Saturday line-up is dope”.

The festival which is taking place on the 24th and the 25th May, will be filled with screaming fans as many super music acts have been lined up including:

  • One Direction
  • Bastille
  • Ed Sheeran
  • Pharrell Williams
  • Kings of Leon
  • The Vamps
  • John Newman
  • Tinie Tempah
  • Jake Bugg
  • You Me At Six
  • Lorde
  • London Grammar
  • Kasabian
  • Sam Smith
  • Clean Bandit
  • Katy B
  • Plus many more

50,000 free tickets for this years event were all gone in just over 30 minutes on the morning of release last month. The show is free of charge but a fee of £2.50 per ticket took place to cover ticket handling, postage and other associated costs.

Last year’s Radio 1’s Big Weekend was held in Londonderry and was headlined by Calvin Harris, Biffy Clyro and Bruno Mars.

People who didn’t manage to grab a ticket must be green with envy because I know I certainly am.
