Ubisoft’s team-based FPS is set to have another important update this week: one that adjusts team killing punishments and how they are handled. It will also fix some bugs and balance some things out.

Rainbow Six Siege was released late last year, and was received very well, gaining lots of attention on YouTube and Twitch.

The game revolves around team work. Lone wolves gain nothing but bullets to the face and rage from their teammates trying to work the objectives.

But while it’s annoying to lose a match, there’s nothing more annoying than being shot in the back of the head by your team member. Ubisoft apparently knows this, and is clamping down on team killers. Players who kill their own squad members will be kicked from the game in Casual play and Ranked play. However, those in Ranked will earn a 15-minute ban, and a 50% renown penalty for 30 minutes after the offence.

Repeated offenders are banned for longer and longer as players kill more team members.

Ubisoft has said that suspension times will differ from player to player, and could actually end up in a permanent ban, depending on the “severity of the behaviour”.

And don’t team kill.

Scrubs.
