If you’re on the hunt for the most-grammable food you can find, The Great British Cupcakery should be at the very top of your list. With the most dreamy aesthetic in the shop itself, and the most gorgeous-looking cupcakes and shakes you’ve ever seen, it is unbeatable.

I have had my fair share of desserts around the world and in the north-east, but I have to say that The Great British Cupcakery takes the biscuit when it comes to shakes. The caramel one is absolutely to-die for, with the jar itself being covered in caramel as well as a mound of cream on the top with a mini cake. It is genuinely one of the nicest things I’ve had the pleasure of tasting – and just thinking about it now gets my mouth watering.

In terms of cakes in the shop, they are good, though not the best. The speciality of The Great British Cupcakery is definitely shakes, with the cakes being a little lacklustre in the end. Though it is hard to follow their epic shake creations.

Pricing is actually pretty decent, too. Given its location on Newcastle’s often-expensive Quayside, The Great British Cupcakery is reasonably priced. Though be warned that gift vouchers must be spent all in one go. So, £20 worth of voucher will get you two shakes and two cakes which is pretty amazing seeing as you definitely won’t finish any of it because there is so much.

Overall, this is a delightful little shop in Newcastle, and one you should most definitely visit one afternoon. Be it with the girls or the kids – this place is picture-perfect.
