We can’t all be goddesses, Serena, give us a break.
Yes, Serena Williams, the 23-time Grand Slam winner has done what most famous people do when pregnant now: had her own photo shoot in the nip. It goes without saying the photos are stunning. The images were taken by Vanity Fair after they interviewed her about her pregnancy and how Serena met her partner Alexis Ohanian.
She told the magazine that she hadn’t expected a thing until she was sick on the side of a court while practising. It was shortly after this (and five tests later) she admitted she was indeed pregnant.
She said to her friend Jessica, “Oh my God, this can’t be – I’ve got to play a tournament,” she said. “How am I going to play the Australian Open? I had planned on winning Wimbledon this year.”

Well, despite being pregnant, she still completely stomped her way to winning the Australian Open, which as we all know, sent social media into meltdown. One side simply screeching ‘yaaaaas queeeen’ and the other being misogynistic and vile. The Guardian did a rather good article about it.
She is an absolute icon, given the fact that she’s come under fire a few times for having strong opinions on women in sport and in general. She argued that women deserve just as much reward money from matches as men, much to the dismay of Novak Djokovic.
John McEnroe recently and stupidly said she would be, “like, 700” in the rankings, which meant there would be no point in her playing.
Her response?
“Dear John, I adore and respect you but please please keep me out of your statements that are not factually based.”
The way she handles these things is incredible. No personal attacks, just simple comebacks, and being a genuine person about it.
I am also fully confident that if she were to compete in Wimbledon this year, she’d b**ping win.
Her pregnant photoshoot is beautiful and we’re all positive she’ll be an awesome mother!
