Spider-Man: Homecoming Makes All the Money
Share:
Spider-Man: Homecoming released for us all to see this weekend and was predicted to be a big hit. However, according to Entertainment Weekly, the film has currently grossed $117 million in the US, which is in line with its predicted earnings but is still $30 million below the 2007 disappointment that was Spider-Man 3.
It’s pretty impressive by many accounts, however, particularly so considering this is Tom Holland’s breakthrough role, and people are saying he played it wonderfully. The opening for the movie has grossed more than Civil War, Wonder Woman, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which was just awful. The film also made $140 million from global sales, boosting its first weekend sales to $257 million. Not bad Marvel, not bad. You managed to get one of your titular characters right.
Do you think you could stop making Captain America into a Hydra agent now?
The top five movies at the box office for this week are:
- Spider-Man: Homecoming – $117 million
- Despicable Me 3 – $34 million
- Baby Driver – $12.7 million
- Wonder Woman – $10.1 million
- Transformers: The Last Knight – $6.3 million
Expect a review soonish.
Until then though…
Yes, we’re using that J.K. Simmons gif again.
