Stars Support Mass Gun Protests

Seth MacFarlane, Amy Schumer and Bell Stiller have all shown their support of a mass school walkout across the US, a month after its most deadly shooting since 2012. Students left classes at 10:00 local times for 17 minutes – one for each person shot in the attack in Parkland Florida.
Wednesday’s walkout saw thousands of students demanding more action to be done on gun control in the US.
Fourteen students and three staff members were killed.
The creator of Family Guy Seth MacFarlane and movie star Ben Stiller wrote on Twitter:
Proud of my kids and all the kids for stepping up today and showing those who should be leading the way. #ENOUGH #GunReformNow https://t.co/2uhzsDC9nO

Many other celebrities have shown support for the protesters, with Liam Gallagher stating ‘Enough is enough’. Comedian Amy Schumer called on people to take part in March for our Lives, which is another US-wide protest which will take place on 24th March.
The shooting took place on the 14th February, when expelled student Nikolas Cruz used a legally bought AR-15 to gun down his former fellow students. He is currently facing the death penalty, with prosecutors wanting to prove the crime was ‘especially heinous, atrocious or cruel’.
The County Sheriff Israel Scott said, when investigating his social media, that Cruz’s obsession with guns was ‘very, very disturbing’.

This may be the beginning of something far bigger than we’ve seen before. Multiple protests in the form of empty shoes and spare desks have taken place too.
A poignant look at the destruction one awful human can cause when armed.
