Various nominees from eight different categories, came together for one afternoon at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 3rd November, in the hope of bagging themselves a BBC Radio 1 Teen Choice Award. The celebs rubbed shoulders with young people from around the country, who had also been nominated for Teen Choice Awards by family and friends for their varying acts of kindness and selflessness. Although the show, hosted by Nick Grimshaw and Rita Ora, wasn’t televised viewers were able to watch it online.
The best British TV show went to Doctor Who even though he was in a strong category which included shows such as Geordie Shore and Coronation Street. Gareth Bale was amongst the nominees for Best British Sports Star along with the likes of Ellie Simmons, Laura Robson and Leigh Halfpenny but the person who come out on top was the well-deserved Andy Murray.
The Best British Solo Artist went to “cheeky chap” Olly Murs beating his fellow competitors such as Jessie J and the well-loved Tinie Tempah. The 1D lads had something else to smile about by winning Best British Group and Best British single for their hit Best Song Ever.
