We seldom see any news about Elite Dangerous, the ambitious space-exploring game made by Frontier Developments, but this was too weird not to talk about.

For a few years now, since its 2014 release into Early Access, the game has had a rather realistic approach to things like physics, gravity, planetary landings and the like. But one thing that has always been alluded to is the presence of aliens. Old explorers of a forgotten era, who are just waiting to be uncovered.

There were a few instances where players had found artefacts that made noises and sent out weird signals, but nothing on this kind of scale.

Someone went hunting for the Thargoids, the aliens in question, and found something rather… unsettling, to say the least. These ancient beings look bug-like in how they operate, with planet-wide networks.

But do the walls have to be so slimy?

Check out the full stream below. It’s definitely worth a watch.

Anyone else totally terrified of aliens after watching this?

One streamer caught one of the colossal alien ships drawing power from the barnacle-like structures of a planet a few weeks ago, actually. Have a look below.
