Over the last year, a number of new restaurants have opened up all over the North East, and they look pretty great. So, instead of trying the same place time and time again, we thought we would give you a round-up of the top 5 must-try restaurants that have recently opened – they look great!

1. George’s Great British Kitchen – Eldon Square, Newcastle. ‘A good and proper place’ according to its website, George’s Great British Kitchen certainly meets expectations. You can enjoy a fancy meal in a gorgeous environment, and try a very British menu with a little spin on it.

2. MOD – Metrocentre, Gateshead. One of the fastest-growing pizza chains in the US, this is the perfect place for any pizza lovers, as you can create your own pizza for no extra cost. That means as many toppings as you could possibly want. Wow. You can drop in to pick up a takeaway pizza, or sit in and enjoy your surroundings.

3. Missoula – Durham. This is the perfect place for students, as you can enjoy a delicious pub meal for a low price, all while sipping on some delicious cocktails. Sometimes there are even special events on too, making your night that little bit more special.

4. Five Guys – Metrocentre, Gateshead. This is essentially a more sophisticated and tastier version of McDonald’s, but unfortunately that comes with more of a cost too. However, you will love its American feel, and most importantly its burgers.

5. Huckleberry’s – Darlington. This restaurant provides a much more casual and relaxed atmosphere, with some tasty food. As well as this, it has one unique quality – man vs food. Here, you have the opportunity to scoff down a huge meal within a short time limit, and if you succeed you’ll receive a voucher for the value of the challenge you chose. See how well you can do!

There’s certainly something to fit everyone’s taste, so we’re expecting you to try them out very soon! We definitely will be.
