Taylor Swift signed with the independent label Big Machine Records and became the youngest songwriter ever hired, her third single ‘Our Song’ made her the youngest person ever to debut at number one on the Hot Country Songs Chart. We have looked back over the years from when Taylor signed her first record deal at 14 and put together her top five singles of all time:

 

1) ‘Blank Space’
‘Blank Space’ reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 making her the first woman in the Hot 100’s 56 – year history to succeed herself at the top spot.

 

 

2) ‘Shake it Off’
‘Shake it Off ‘ debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and won favourite song at the 2015 People’s Choice Awards and also received nominations for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance at the 2015 Grammy Awards.

 

 

3) ‘We are Never Ever Ever Getting Back Together’

‘We are never ever ever getting back together’ was the first song in Taylor’s career to peak at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The single has been certified Quintriple Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

 

 

4) ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’

‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ debuted at number three on the Billboard Hot 100, selling more than 46,000 copies within the first week. At the YouTube Awards in 2013 the track won an award for YouTube phenomenon. It has been certified Quintriple platinum and is one of the best selling singles worldwide with sales of more than 6.6 million copies.

 

 

5) ‘You Belong With Me’
‘You Belong With Me’ won favourite song at 2010 kids Choice Awards and received nominations for the Grammy Awards for Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
