Coldplay have sold more than 80million records worldwide and have won a number of music awards over their career, including eight Brit Awards which makes them one of the best-selling music groups of all time. Coldplay released their debut studio album ‘Parachutes’ on 10 July 2000 and since then just keep churning out hit album after hit album.

We have put together their top five music videos ever:

 

1. ‘A Sky Full Of Stars’

‘A Sky Full of Stars’ was released on 2nd May 2014 as the second single from Coldplay’s sixth studio album Ghost Stories. The official music video was directed by Matt Whitecross and the shooting took place on King Street in Newton, a suburb of Sydney.

 

 

2) ‘Paradise’

‘Paradise’ is a song from Coldplay’s fifth studio album Mylo Xyloto. The song was nominate for a grammy award in the category Best Pop Duo/group performance and at the 2012 MTV Video Music Award on 6th September, the song won award for the best rock video. The music video was directed by Matt Whitecross.

 

 

3) ‘The Scientist’

‘The Scientist’ is the second single from Coldplay’s second studio album A Rush of Blood to the Head. The song was written by all the band members for the album. The music video won three MTV Music Video Awards and was directed by Jamie Thraves and filmed at various locations, including London and at Bourne Woods in Surrey.

 

 

4) ‘Viva La Vida’

‘Viva La Vida’ was written by all members of the band for their fourth album, Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends. ‘Viva La Vida’ reached the top of the UK Singles Chart and Billboard Hot 100. The song won the Grammy Award for Song of the Year at 51st Grammy Awards in 2009. It has sold over 7.1 million copies worldwide by 2014.

The official music video for ‘Viva La Vida’ was directed by acclaimed videographer Hype Williams.

 

 

5) Fix You

‘Fix You’ is a song written by all four members of the band for their third album, X&Y. It has reached number four on the UK Singles chart. The Music video for ‘Fix You’ was directed by Sophie Muller and was filmed during a couple of the band’s concerts
