Trump denies climate change?

There has been much debate on whether US President Donald Trump believes in climate change or not, with many critics opting for the view that Trump believes it is a conspiracy. To be fair, in 2012 he tweeted: “The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive.”
However, today it seems Trump might have finally put the nail in the coffin of the belief that he recognises and believes in climate change. As the US experiences one of its coldest winters on record, the President said:
In the East, it could be the COLDEST New Year’s Eve on record. Perhaps we could use a little bit of that good old Global Warming that our Country, but not other countries, was going to pay TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS to protect against. Bundle up!

Trump’s tweet has provoked a great deal of anger at the scepticism it shows towards the science of climate change – no longer called ‘global warming’ due to the inaccurate connotations it brings, namely that everything is getting warmer – by joking that the US “could use a little bit of that good old Global Warming”.
The tweet comes after a turbulent year for Trump and the environment as America became the only country to not be involved in the Paris Climate Agreement following Trump’s withdrawal. Even Syria, which has been engaged in a seven-year civil war, signed the agreement.
