This week’s tunes are mostly electronic. However, at the forefront, we have Beyoncé’s latest release:

‘Formation’ – Beyoncé

Beyoncé debuted ‘Formation’ at the Superbowl with an exceptional, political performance. ‘Formation’ was the perfect track for Beyoncé to come out in support of the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement: it is unapologetically black with Beyoncé “slaying” over a minimalistic hip-hop beat.

‘Midnite Mass’ / ‘U Already Know’– Keys N Krates

The first two tracks of Key N Krates’ new Midnite Mass EP are made to be listened to together. ‘Midnite Mass’ essentially serves as a long intro to ‘U Already Know’ and so is worth listening to, in order to build extra anticipation for the heavy beat in ‘U Already Know’. These tracks showcase Keys N Krates’ talent, and show what they can achieve when on top form.

‘Feel Good Inc. (ft. LissA)’ – filous

filous’s latest release is his rework of the Gorillaz track ‘Feel Good Inc.’ By rework, I mean that he opted for another artist, LissA, to sing the vocals instead of remixing the original. The result is a feel-good, relaxed house track: a classic filous sound.

‘Motley Crue (Gener8ion Remix)’ – They.

A good remix is one which stands alone, even if you don’t know the original. Like this one by Gener8ion. Despite the intro sounding like the opening to a bad 2010 dubstep song, Gener8ion’s remix of ‘Motley Crue’ transforms the already solid track into a future funk tune.
