Two young unknown actors have bagged themselves the lead roles in the next Star Wars film, after attending open auditions. US-born Crystal Clarke and British actor Pip Andersen were cast from over 37,000 hopefuls who attended the open auditions, which were held in 11 cities across the UK and US.

Back in 1977, Mark Hamill, who was unknown at the time, was cast as Luke Skywalker. Hamill is now a producer, director and writer and he is also known for voicing the Joker in Batman: The Animated Series. Mark also went on to appear in the next two Star Wars films and he is also set to feature in the new upcoming Star Wars Episode VII.

Both Crystal and Pip, have not yet appeared in a major film. The pair are said to be over joyed with joining the Star Wars trilogy.
