The second installment of the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel starring Dames Judi Dench and Maggie Smith has earned £3.8m in its opening weekend at the box office putting the sequel ahead of second place Fifty Shades of Grey.

Fifty Shades of Grey took £2.2m putting the film second place in the UK Box Office earning more than £30m in three weeks.  Focus featuring Will Smith earned £1.9m to finish in third place leaving Big Hero 6 and Shaun the Sheep at numbers four and five respectively.
