Over recent years, there has been a significant increase in veganism, a plant-based diet avoiding all animal foods. However, it can still be difficult to find vegan friendly food in many supermarkets and shops. So, to hear that Tesco have released their own-brand vegan range is great news – and, we’ve heard it’s delicious.

According to The Vegan Society, at least half a million people in Britain are now following a vegan diet. And, this number could be set to increase over the next couple of months, with many people across the country taking part in Veganuary, a month of trying to be vegan.

Thanks to the American chef Derek Sarno, it will now be much easier to go vegan, with the range consisting of 100% plant-based meals, and on sale across 600 Tesco stores.

Commenting on the inspiration behind the new range, Sarno said:

When I first arrived in Britain from America I was hugely surprised at how little choice there was for vegans and those considering a lifestyle change.

The only thing I could find was a falafel wrap. For too long vegans have been overlooked, with many offerings that are available seemingly created to appease rather than truly please. Wicked Kitchen plans to change all that.

Not only does the range seem a great step in the right direction, the meals look incredibly delicious too, leaving no excuse not to give them a try!

Here are some of our favourites.

Bbq Beans And Mash 345G.

Well, what can we say? Who doesn’t love mashed potato? Not only does this meal look delicious, but it’s also filled with plenty of delicious favours – mmm, BBQ sauce.

Muay Thai Curry 400G.

For many, a curry isn’t quite the same without meat. However, this dish looks so yummy that we wouldn’t even think twice about eating it. Plus, it’s only £4 – way better than your average curry!

What do you think? Are you trying out Veganuary? Let us know in the comments!
