A few months ago, we talked about how Mad Max actor Tom Hardy would be starring in an upcoming Spider-Man spin-off movie Venom. Venom is one of the web-slingers main villains and it has finally begun production as of today, the 24th October.

The start of production comes after a few delays since the movie’s initial announcement in May. Along with Hardy, the movie will star Riz Ahmed (Rogue One) and Michelle Williams (Manchester by the Sea).

Hardy will play the titular character, Eddie Brock, once a friend to Peter Parker, who becomes the host for an alien parasite called ‘Symbiote’.

The film will be the first of a few scheduled spin-offs, with Sony still owning the rights for Spider-Man and his villains. The next movie in this line-up will be Silver and Black, which will follow Silver Sable, a secret agent character, who is often connected with Spider-Man and the Black Cat, Parker’s off and on lover in the comics.
