While it may still be a few months off, summer is set to be chock-full of blockbusters to look forward to, with disdain or excitement. Take your pick.

With Civil War coming out today, we’re basically spoiled for movies over the next few months. One of those films is X-Men: Apocalypse, following on from the timeline presented in First Class.

The TV spots promise action on a globe-shattering scale. As if we didn’t have enough super hero films like that.

Ech.

Now it would appear the X-Men franchise (which has been relatively tame in terms of destruction) is going all-out in its next film.

Mmmm, look at that colour pallet of… brown and grey rubble.

It has also been confirmed that Wolverine will feature in the film, as shown in the cameo of the latest TV spot. Director Bryan Singer explained that Hugh Jackman’s role in the film would be more than a quick cameo.

Sweet; I now have a reason to see this movie.

“I will say, it’s not simple,” he told Empire. “There’s something more pivotal that occurs with that. It hints to a sequence that again fits within the canon of all six movies, and the birth of a new direction. It’s not insignificant, nor is it simply just a throw-in.”

Hugh Jackman has played the clawed X-Man for the best part of the last 15 years, and the untitled Wolverine film next year is said to be his last rendition of the role in a full-length film.
