#YEAR12PROBLEMS

Mock exams

Exam season is approaching, believe it or not. Before we know it, we’ll be in that abyss of revision and sitting exam after exam.

At the moment, though, a lot of us are contesting with mock exams.

They’re never taken as seriously as the powers above want you to, you’ll probably do pretty crap in at least one and afterwards you might be pushed into revising a little bit more.

Love them or loathe them (everyone loathes them, really, let’s be honest) they’re there and probably for our own benefit.

What I really wanted to talk about was what to do when you fail a mock exam. It’s my mock results day tomorrow (another way of making me want to vomit. Thanks, Satan) and I will fail my history mock. Oops.

However, instead of sitting around moaning, I’ll be revising for the resit. I’ll be teaching myself the course and going through it so it doesn’t happen again.

We shouldn’t be terrified of mocks (even though I am a little bit). We should realise our mistakes and then go forward to change them.

Mocks are mocks. You’d rather mess up in them than in the real thing.

Whatever happens in your mocks, good luck. You’ll be fine either way.
