Temperamental people

Half-term is finally here and it offers a chance to think and reflect on what has been the first part of our Sixth Form experience (as well as sift through the mountain of essays and ‘consolidation’ work…).

This week’s column is on something a little different than usual: temperamental people. You know, the type of people whose moods are always in a constant state of fluctuation – one moment they’re fine, the next they’re angry with you and two days later they’re great with you. Everyone at some point has a tendency to be temperamental; everyone is going through something at some point that may change their mood in a way that may seem unreasonable to you.

One of the things I learnt the other day was to keep on remembering that sometimes, it’s not you; it’s them. People have their ‘off’ days and you’ve got to remember that in this world. So, a note to those living with temperamental people and who definitely know that the changing in attitude and mood is not their fault: don’t take it personally. Everyone has their way and you’ve just got to remember that.

See you next week.
