Fallout 4 Mod Spotlight

Remember that game I may or may not have obsessed over this time last year?  Well, we’re getting back into it with some really cool mods and tweaks the community have made.

Bethesda games are a gold mine for modders and content creators wanting to show their creative flare in the spaces of the game. Things like Skyrim had monster mods, mods that added weapons, armours and even a Thomas the Tank Engine mod that replaces all the dragons in the game with our favourite blue train.

So, what about Fallout 4?

First up, we have the TES-51 Power Armour mod. Don’t get me wrong, the Power Armour in the first game kicks some serious butt, however, a lot of the suits just… looked the same, and their modular settings were limited. This addition changes that, adding a completely new set of armour to tinker with and wander around like a bad*** in. It’s pretty cool, given some of the stuff you can add to the suit, from some really cool helmet upgrades (like slapping a Deathclaw skull on it), to making a bigger backpack for all the literal junk you have to ferry from settlement to settlement.

The design and textures used are really well made, and high resolution. This, combined with the two weapons the mod adds, gives a Skyrim-esque Steel Sword and Warhammer, which is an immediate favourite.

There are a few bugs when scrolling down the modification lists; some can stick to your armour without you clicking on it, but go away after entering and exiting your armour. Other than that, however, it’s a wonderful addition to the game.

We’ll have another spotlight at some point in the month!
